location, location, location

Roland Levinsky building in Plymouth University
As you may be aware from my previous posts on this project, the house skin is waiting for its full fruition.  Upon trying the trial piece at the Roland Levinsky Building at Plymouth University I felt it wasn't the right site for the piece, it's a extremely large space that injects it way through all the floors above did somewhat dwarf the work.

I know the piece I made is a fraction smaller than the finished work would be but I am still feeling it's not the right 'place'.  It's a very liminal space, which is something I really liked in terms of its relation to sited a 'home' piece within the space, but the space is taken over very often for activities run by the University and outside agencies and wouldn't get the time it needs to occupy the space.

I like this installation shot gives the impression the work is much bigger than it was.  I can get a better sense of what I am trying to achieve through the photography of the work.  On standing within the same space as the work you didn't get a sense of being dwarfed by the ethereal yet looming structure.  The space in which it was situated dwarfed you and the work.
chosen gable end for project

The project got postponed whilst waiting for warmer weather to return (latex needs at least 7 degrees to work) and also time needed in the planning.  SO the reason for the post today is the weather is looking good!  I'm feeling the need to start getting this project complete, I must say I find it frustrating as I like immediacy in my work!  Well I have to be patient to see this one through.

What I need from my readers are thoughts on possible locations, are there any places you think this might be suitably installed?  Bearing in mind need at least a two storey high house space!  Also looking at possible commission to undertake the work, looking into crowdfunding also.

Please share to increase the input I could have on possible locations, many thanks
